Janhavi is a multi-disciplinary artist from India, currently living and working in Nottingham. She earned her Master’s in Fine Arts from Nottingham Trent University, a post-grad diploma in Art History and Curatorial studies from BDL Museum; and a Bachelor’s in Mass Media with a specialisation in Journalism from Mumbai University. She also holds certificates in Ecological and Post Colonial Feminism, and Film Criticism, among others.
Primarily working with Photography and Film, she is interested in exploring the intersections between memory, gender and ecology with her practice. Her work has been recognised across India, UK, some parts of Europe, and Australia. Community engagement activities like lectures, workshops, and performances that lead to collaborative research; and induce dialogue about identity and belonging, solidarity and reciprocity, are an extension of her art practice.
