Gaurav, a devoted full-time dancer and choreographer, navigates the artistic confluence of North Indian classical Kathak and contemporary dance. His journey began under the guidance of esteemed guru such as Saveeta Sharma in Ottawa, Lata Bakalkar in Mumbai, and currently learning from guru Aditi Mangaldas in Delhi.

For nearly 7 years, Gaurav has been an integral part of Aditi Mangaldas’ repertory, showcasing his exceptional talent on international stages in the UK, Germany, Russia, Singapore, and beyond. His choreographic works, seamlessly blending tradition and innovation, have resonated with audiences in India and Canada.

Gaurav’s artistic endeavors have earned recognition from the Canada Arts Council, receiving multiple grants that underscore his contribution to the dance landscape. In 2021, he achieved further acclaim, winning the inaugural Dr. Sunil Kothari Award for Emerging Artists for his work “Hemant.” Beyond his solo accomplishments, Gaurav has played a crucial role, assisting Aditi Mangaldas on her new solo “Forbidden” and is currently contributing as Rehearsal Director for Mehek.

Currently immersed in the development of a full-length production inspired by the profound works of the 17th-century Punjabi Sufi poet, Bulleh Shah, Gaurav’s journey exemplifies a dynamic force in the world of dance, bridging cultural traditions and pushing the boundaries of artistic expression.
