Jo Crowley

Senior Producer

Jo Crowley is an experienced Arts Leader with over 20 years’ experience working at the intersection of Creative Producing, Executive Direction and Artist Development.

Specialising in collaborative, interdisciplinary, new performance and international activities she has overseen the business operations of multiple performance companies and produced over 50 multi-award-winning stage productions, tours, and projects for independent artists and performance companies, presented in over 50 countries across 6 continents.

Previously Jo was Executive Producer for 1927 (2007-2025) collaborating for 18 years to shape a multi-award-winning programme and steering the company to become one of the UKs most prolific theatre companies creating, licensing, exporting and touring work internationally. She also previously collaborated with artists and companies including Kazuko Hohki, Ridiculusmus, Cartoon de Salvo, The Gogmagogs and Blind Summit.

A fierce champion for supporting, celebrating, and empowering performance makers Jo has initiated and led Artist Development programmes focussed on building visibility and cultivating opportunities for exchange, collaboration, learning and discovery for form pushing artists. She is the Co-Director of the Total Theatre Network, leading the Total Theatre Awards at the Edinburgh Festivals and is the Co-Founder of Another Route – an Artist Development programme for England-based performance makers to internationalise their creative practice.

Alongside her work with AOC Jo works as an Independent Strategic Producer and Consultant, collaborating with UK based Performance Companies and Artists and she continues to explore and steer Artist Centred Development activities.

Jo is Chair of Trustees for Arcade Arts, a Board Member for Theatre Delicatessen and a DeVos Institute Global Arts Management Fellow 2025-2027.

Dance runs deep in Jo’s DNA having studied and practiced for over four decades.
