Following three years as a drama teacher in the late 1980s Peter embarked on a career in arts PR. In 1990 until 1993 he worked at The Place Theatre in London, working with companies such as The Cholmondeleys, The Featherstonehaughs, Adventures in Motion Pictures, V-TOL and Shobana Jeyasingh. This was followed by seven years at Sadler’s Wells as Head of Press, during which time he worked with some of the world’s finest dance companies and performers including Mark Morris, Mikhail Baryshnikov, William Forsyth., Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, New York City Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Lindsay Kemp and Pina Bausch. During this period he also oversaw the PR campaign for the re-development of the new Sadler’s Wells which opened in 1998.
He joined with Anna Arthur PR in 2000 to create Arthur Leone PR. Whilst there Peter continued to work on dance projects (Boston Ballet, Balletboyz, Natalia Osipova and Ivan Vasiliev) as well as large scale circus events (Fuerzabruta, CircusFest at the Roundhouse), West End plays (Speed the Plow with Lindsay Lohan, Old Times with Kristin Scott Thomas, Private Lives with Kim Cattrell) and musicals (Our House, Dirty Dancing) as well as stand-up comedy (Miles Jupp, Nina Conti, Punt & Dennis).
He relocated to Leicester in 2017 and now, as Peter Leone PR, Peter continues to work on a wide variety of artistic projects, which recently included Birmingham Royal Ballet and Curve Theatre (Leicester).
