Spring Classes 2021
Sat 6 February - Fri 26 March
Shiamak’s online classes offer a training programme for students of all ages and abilities. Learn from Swapnil, our Shiamak trained instructor as he guides you through the world of Bollywood dance and Shiamak’s trademark dance styles Indo Jazz and Bollywood Jazz.
Each class focuses on developing technique and learning the various disciplines of performance. A typical session begins with a dancercise (dance workout) warm up, followed by the creation of a dance routine. Swapnil will work with you to focus on developing your technical skill and choreography.
This term we will be working towards our first ever online Bollywood Rocks party. Students from across the UK will have the opportunity to share their dance skills and take part in some games, learn TikTok challenges from our own Shiamak London TikTok sensation Supriya and dance to some fun and fresh music. Bring your mum, dad, siblings, children, grandparents and pets to this unique Bollywood dance party.
And now you can take part from anywhere in the world, choosing the day that works best for your schedule.
The Spring term sees three new classes added to our schedule, taught by Supriya: Seniors (over 55s), New Parents and Bollysass.
Our senior class is designed for participants aged 55 and over to dance, have fun, meet with and make new friends. This is a chance to meet other people across the UK aged 55+ to connect with them and share the joy of dance, while improving your fitness.
Our new parents class gives you the opportunity to improve your fitness in a fun and creative way. Make new friends across the region and share your experience without the need for a baby sitter. If you’re a new mum wanting to get your fitness back after birth or a new dad looking to develop your dance skills we have the class for you. We understand you may need to deal with all the things that parenthood throws at you so this class is tailored to enable you to take part from the comfort of your home, so you can keep an eye on your new born.
Every Monday 7-8pm join Shiamak teacher Supriya on Zoom as she teaches you a range of Bollysass routines to sass up your week. She’s a TikTok dance sensation and she’s going to share her tips and tricks with you.
And this Valentines Day, for the first time ever in the UK, learn Bolly Ada: the perfect combination of the Bollywood latkas and jhatkas with the grace and ada of your favourite Bollywood Divas!
Shiamak UK Dance Competition II
Book your private one to one mentoring sessions with Swapnil, to create your solo competition entry. From March – May you will take part in seven 40 minute sessions of bespoke training to develop your technique and create a solo performance. The competition will take place online at the end of May, where participants will be able to perform for our panel of expert judges.
Competition winners will have the opportunity to take part in a one-off gala performance alongside a special guest in Autumn 2021. All entrants must take part in the Spring term of classes to be eligible for the competition.
Arts Award is back
Arts Award is a nationally recognised qualification managed by Trinity College London in association with Arts Council England. It allows participants to focus on arts appreciation, generating a deeper understanding of the arts through active research and participation, documentation of findings, and presentation in portfolios for moderation. Children and young people up to the age of 16 can take part in an Arts Award qualification as an additional offer to the Shiamak online Spring term.
Most of our classes are based on age:
Kids 5 – 7
Pre-teens 8 – 12
